Geography

Studying Geography provides pupils with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the word around them by studying a wide range of geographical issues.  Indeed, Geography in Kilwinning Academy focuses on the development of problem solving, communication and analytical skills.

Mr Dick, Mrs McKie and Miss Miller deliver Geography in Kilwinning Academy.

S1 & S2 Geography

In S1 and S2, pupils will study Geography and History/Modern Studies on a rotation basis.  Pupils rotate between subjects every 6 weeks. In Geography, pupils study:

2. Weather & Climate

S2 Geography

1. Development

2. Climate & Ecosystems

S3 Geography

In S3, pupils focus their studies on their selected Social Subject.  Pupils who choose Geography will study:

1. Rivers

2. Environmental Hazards

Senior Geography

National 4/5  Geography

1. Human: Urban, Population, Rural

2. Physical: Glaciation, Weather, Coasts

3. Global Issues: Environmental Hazards, Health

Higher Geography

1.Human Environment

. Physical Environment

3. Global Issues

4. Fieldwork

Travel and Tourism

National 4/5

1. Scotland
